You can use wax on it I have a Ducati 1198 wrapped in white pearl satin and wax it all the time with no problem so far.
This M3 is wrapped with the same 3M i have on the Ducati: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=798956

Well the car doesn't need to be perfect to wrap it, unless you expect it to look perfect after wraping. Film is 0.003" thick, in general, so it is going to conform and show any imperfections it is put over. You can do it to any car you want - you just have to do proper preparation.
