I imagine a lot of places in larger cities could do it. I wouldn't just trust anybody to do this though but i have considered it on my E92. It looks amazing, i like the ps that was done as well, i think it would look great on those wheels.

I recently just saw pics of somebody that did it here (local) on his amg 63 and it looks great..

Cause the BMW vision and my personal view of how this wheels fits best are round about 10mm different on the rear axle

Greetings,
Michael

Very nice. Love Matte on small cars with sharp edges giving it a chiseled look. Matte on large car simply gives off an impression of a boulder.

And yes I have installed on the rear axle 10mm spacers on each side, and it is fare from rubbing. Fits perfect. Its the E89 specific version of the 313 BMW performance wheels.

Greetings,
Michael
Is it possible to remove the foil after some time, say 3 years, and have a fresh paint underneath? Does the foil protect the original paint?

When i´m in Germany it seems like almost all taxis are beige. Are they foiled??

Yes, its no problem to remove the foil after years and the well protected paint looks like a shiny new car. No signs of the real age of the car.

In Germany all taxis, all police cars and even a lot of military cars are wrapped into this kind of car foil to stop the loss in value.

For me its just to fun with unusual colors and effects. I hate the booooring standard color charts of this car makers.

Greetings,
Michael

How the hell do you maintain this? What happens if the guy at the car wash does a little scratch on the trunk?

That is my question. Also, why spend $2K to "cover up" the perfect paint you just paid $60K to get? At least it is reversible. I personally think the flat grey looks like primer...

Very cool! Love the rims too, but you need a breaks upgrade with rims like this... fill in those gaps.

Somebody else mentioned a colored removable foil on this forum or another one - can't remember exactly. I think it's a German product, costs about $5,000 - $ 10,000 US and they're crazy about over in Dubai or someplace like that. I think it was a gold plated X6 shown on the xBimmers X6 forum.

Did you alter this photo because the car looks shorter? Perhaps a fisheye lens?

.
indeed people are mad about it in dubai. people pay around 15K usd here for the chrome foil gold or silver, and around 10k for matt foil.

police have banned the chrome foil because its just too shiny in the morning, i see people with foils on there cars almost everytime i go cruising in dubai jumeirah
