Digital speedometer

So now the fun is over for this season..............

Winter is here and my Z4 is resting in the garage.

Last thing I did was to activate BC speedometer with my new tool from Prochip.

The M-Coder got a lot of functions that I am going to explore during the winter.

My memory may be a little foggy because it's hard for us So Calif types to imagine what snow looks like, but it seems I remember seeing a photograph of something resembling snow with a Z4 driving around in it.

Hope you go that thing on a battery charger if your going to be querying the on-board computer all winter. Too bad it doesn't have Droid software so you could teach it to do something really useful while it's sitting there.

Question: Is the digital speed the same as the analog speed on the speedo or is it accurate (the real speed)?

In most of my cars the speedo has been off by anything from 3 - 7 kph. THe avg speed indicator on the trip computer was accurate on the Z3 but not on the Z4 or M3. That's why I use a dash mounted GPS...

If the digital speedometer utilizes the GPS of the satnav, then it would be more accurate than the Analog speedo...
How much did you get the tool for and where from? Im asking because with my new "re-flash" of the ECU it is stated that my top speed will be more than 285 km/h.

Yes , I have heard the M-series have this function.

The M-Coder is an Professional Tool for Workshops, Dealers and Club's etc. All functions are unlimited.

Go to: www.prochip.de

Implemented functions are shown on the M-Coder page.

BCSpeedo is also available as an M-Tool.
