Winding Road does 35iS

Most of you are probably tired of reading reviews of this iteration of the Z.., but I've still got 4 months to go and I just can't seem to help myself.

Yep for sure, but im sure 90% of all the IS's out there wont have JB3, so they will give me a great breakfast.

And as it's still the same engine and you "fool" the ecu, there would be no difference in engineperformance between 35i and 35iS running on JB3. Or would there?

I thought the idea behind the JB3 is that it doesn't change the ECU programing in any way, but enhances, or alters the values the ECU receives which results in higher performance.

This being the case, wouldn't installing a JB3 on an 35is enhance it's programing as well resulting in higher performance than an 35i?

Just a question for people with far more expertise than me. FWIW

I'm tired of reading lazy reviews that post BMW press photos!

Move on people, nothing worth seeing here ...

This is interesting :

"...the overboost is achieved by simply stomping the accelerator pedal all the way to the floor, which depresses a floor-mounted switch..."

I immediately put myself on my knees before my car and took a photo of the pedal .... don't know if that's the switch they talk about.

Interesting. Is the boost effect "obvious" when you get the pedal all the way down?

EDIT, no that's just the pedal stop.

.
I thought so, but it could have been a 'magnetic' thing when 'connecting' with the pedal it would do something ... so ... where is it then, the 'magic button' ? I think it is just software: depending on the position of the pedal, all kind of temperatures, etc. ... it decides to give you the overboost !

Would be nice though in what situation exactly

My smart roadster had some sort of micro switch under the gas pedal. You could feel the click when you put the pedal to the metal. It was used for launch control though.

Smart Car roadster? I've seen 'em, but still can't believe they exist.
