You can't. You have to automatically switch it on going forward. I've gotten used to doing it. Just can't see dinging the nose on a curb. Would be nice if it auto-switched on at 15 or 10 mph, but no such luck..

Exactly like even a poor mercedes would do. And guess that it should be just a command in the car's computer, it wouldn't cost a thing. I don't get it

Love the red interior I agree with you the DCT is a must have. I have always had manual transmission cars but the shifts are so fast and smooth with the DCT i dont think I could ever go back.

Great shots, great car!

I'm quite jealous because I wanted the blue with the red interior too. Doesn't sound good but works fantastically because of the red shade. My better half persuaded me that it would clash with too many items of clothing!! We went for the beige leather instead - sigh.

I am also getting the 'chain like' noise on cold start but have no insight as to why yet.

Thx, man. My wife was anxious for the color combo, too, what do they know anyway?
About the chainlike noise the experts tell me it 's absolutely normal, it has something to do with the spring coils. Don't worry at all about it.

Not to get off topic but I hear a lot about the current fires near Athens. I hope none of our Greek contigent is in harms way.

Well thanks for finding that out! Have to say it is not the most pleasant sound to open up with, especially if I am showing somebody my nice new motor!

I visit the north of Greece & Thessaloniki often. Can you recommend any garages up there for looking after our Z4s, or are you Southern Greece based?

Thanks for your concern, bro. The current fire had a wide battlefront and burnt almost every forest in the NE suburbs of Athens. Some houses in some villages were ruined but had no loss in human lives.
Now let's hit the pedal and get the road on fire

How was it from the 350Z to the 335? Do you miss anything from the nis?

You might also say that it has something to do with some strange race-setup of the engine or something like that. That will do and maybe they buy it. lol
I live in Athens, 500km in the south of Thessaloniki, so I cannot recommend any...... but username M3EST is in the business and he sure knows to advise you where to go.

I don't hear any strange noises on start up of my 35i but "chain like" noises on start up are likely from the chain driven overhead cams. Especially with Double Vanos, if the oil drains while sitting, they are a little noisey on startup. Some BMW motors are more so than others.

You can correctly tell your passengers its the racing style chain driven cams. Most cars have cam belts to make them quieter. But they need replaced every 60k miles (100k km).

Thank you...I am very much enjoying my 335i ( same engine as yours)...I've had it for almost 2 years and not tired of it. Love the precise steering, handling, suspension and awesome engine...powerful and very fast yet silky smooth and very civilized..and I have yet to further explore it's performance limits!

Yes I did miss a few things about my 350Z nis... only for the first few months though...but now I love my 335!! At first I missed the whole riding closer to the ground, 2 seater smaller true sports car experience. The ride seemed a little rough at first but then got used to it and besides that's how true sports cars are suppose to ride. The steering was very precise and razor sharp. After a year a traded it for the 335i Coupe.

The 335i Coupe is a very refined and capable car and I would not change it for any other car available at this time....well....only maybe for the Nis 370Z or the Z4 35i ...something else...I'm very pleased with BMW's Maintenance Program here in the USA....almost 2 years now and not a penny out of my pocket for maintenance..so no complaints there.

So tell me...how is the driving with the top down experience?...I haven't owned any convertibles yet....and the Z4 35i is very tempting..specialy after seeing your pictures.

Enjoy your masterpiece on wheels

Thanks man. This is my first convertible too. Well, imagine going to work in the morning and feeling the elements of nature (ok no rain or snow), it's like a fest, you feel free. It 's priceless. I wish you to get one as soon as you can, it will be your zen investment.
