Hi Nicknaz and Gunzaro,

Once again, thx for the reply. I tried to go over the same bump over and over under Normal and Sport+. Unfortunately, I really dont feel the different. Sport+ definitely makes my car sounds better, with tighter steering, and more responsive throttle, but not the damping. =(

My question is, what springs are both of you using? My theory is that since I have the H&R springs which compress the dampers/shocks/struts for over 1.2" and maybe it is already at the level where the adaptive M suspension isnt able to do anything.

correct me if I am wrong, but i shell continue testing maybe exiting ramps on the same speed under both Normal and Sport+.

Thanks again guys,

J LAU

Eibach Springs on M adaptive suspension + front and rear H&R swaybars.

First pic shows my old setup with 19inch 235/35/19 fronts and 255/30/19 rear. Handles ok, could be better with v3. No rubbing. Good setup for both dry and wet. Ride quality a bit compromised.

Second pic is my recent setup with 20inch 245/30/20 fronts and 295/25/20rear. Handles great in the dry, tries to kill me too often in the wet. Could still be a lot better with v3. Rubs for the first couple months lol. Great setup for dry, horrible setup for the wet. Ride quality is highly compromised when tire wears.

After going back to the 19inch setup for a couple months, I've concluded that 19's are a better match for this car. Its just more tossable and fun for spirited driving. the 295s on my 20's just doesn't leave much room for fun. If anything snaps, I'm done, especially in the rain. I should also add that I've never experienced this car with run-flats so no comments on that.

Hi Nkc,

Really like your car and setup with 20" rims. Im surprise it is that much worse on wet surface with the 20". May I ask what tires were you using on the 20"s?

and how are the sway bars? I find my car roll way too much >.< I dont have confidence driving fast on the canyons.

THX,
J LAU

Another interesting page is 44, which shows the difference between sport and sport+ setting (key difference is DSC ON vs. DTC mode)
Nicknaz.. you rock!

my car has the stock sport package springs and adaptive dampers

Yes, maybe the lowered ride height and different spring rate makes the difference in damper settings less noticeable.

The part number that come s up as the only spring set available from H and R for my Z , again base suspension is H and R part #- 28987-1

However I also found the below H and R comparison charts

Sport Springs
Sporty Everyday Driving
Lowering Average 1.25"-1.8"
Benefit : Less Roll/Squat/Dive
Ride Firmer than O.E.
Fitment- May Require Alignment Kit
Considerations-May Require Alignment Kit

Race Springs
Track Use, Limited Street
Average 1.9" Drop
Very Little Roll/Squat/Dive Very Firm
Alignment Kit Recommended
May Require Corresponding Suspension Modifications

Super Sport Springs
Sporty Everyday Driving, Occasional Track Use
Average 1.75"-2.3"

is the part # 28987-1 considered the Sport Springs? as this is the option I would prefer?

Has anyone installed theses.
I can easily rent the spring compresser for the front.
Are any special tools required?

That's the SPORT version which is the only available H&R springs for the e89.

No special tools for installation. Just need an alignment after they settle (~1k).

I have nothing to add except to request that you post pics whatever you decide to do. I'm dying to see your car lowered on the 18" VMR v710s.
