Yellow Check Engine Light - 40 mile new 35is!

Took delivery of my 2011 z4 35is at the BMW Welt in Munich at approximately 10:30am on Monday, August 22nd. Drove the car to the airport to take care of some paperwork, and several miles later (I estimated I had around 40 miles at the time), I noticed that the yellow engine light was lit.

Manual says something along the lines of the engine not going to perform as well and to take it to the nearest dealer to get it checked. Not sure if the car has lost any power as I only had the car for 40 miles of highway driving before the light came on...but I'm not really in the mood to stop by a dealership to get it checked and potentially ruin the rest of the european driving vacation.

Search on the board notes potentially the gas cap not being tight (the light came on shortly after getting as so this most likely is the culprit) and also HPFP and o2 sensors. My guess is the gas cap as the car was 40 miles old at the time. I've turned the engine on and off several times now, but the light remains on - we'll see how things are in several days.

Same thing happened on my ED adventure

Took it to a German Dealer, 2 hours later, they reported. "Lamda sensor 2" had a reading out of spec. I saw light one more time over my vacation in German. No problems since. No worries.

But I was very worried for a few hours.

Usually related to octane rating of the gas or perhaps an oxygen sensor issues.
