Should you forget 3rd Gen of Bridgestone RFTs coming to the UK market?

Well according to the Daily Telegraph Motoring Correspondent, "Honest John", you should.
He was quoted on 7th July 2011, saying:-
"I went on the launch. The trouble is, they didn't perform well enough in the handling tests for BMW to approve them as OEM and they quietly died."
I wonder what the REAL reason is/was.............

Anyway, any ideas for tyres guys?

I have 17s. I use 235/45F and 265/40-17R Continental DWs. MUCH better than my OE Bridgestone take offs...

All Season or Summer tires? I am running Yokohama ENVigors and like them very much.
