Rattles and squeaks

I can't believe that nobody seems to know that the BMW engineers have provided a built-in fix for this situation. There is a knob on the left side of the radio, turn it clockwise until the noises can no longer be heard!

I had both rattles and creaks coming from the roof. It sounded like it was coming from the middle and rear part of the roof panels.

Applied some fuzzy velcro to the 2 front locking mechanism and 100% of the sound is gone. A simple $2 fix.

If you look at the contact point on the roof side, it's a metal bolt. Seems like a design oversight to have metal on metal touching and expect it to be silent.
