Headlight condensation.

Well, i was in Toronto for a month and a half now and i came back to Greece where i have the Z stored and decided to take it for a car wash. After the wash I started to notice that there was a build up of moisture in my left and right car headlights. I dont know if it was there before i took it to the car wash or it formed after but either way it never happened before. I will take the headlamps off and dry it up and maybe apply some silicon to waterproof it but i was just wondering if it ever happened to someone else in the forum? That never happened to any of my other cars before.

It's normal to have a misting often after a wash in the headlight. Water droplets are another matter though and is what causes problems on the rear light lenses.

On both my E89's I have had the rear lenses changed due to this problem and was told the front misting is normal and for me it does always go away. The rears just filled with water and the bulb failure light came on.

I was also told by dealer if water droplets apper in the headlights then this is a problem and must be addressed.

If the condensation is inside the headlight, have it replaced under warranty, or else your HID bulb will fail in the future.

I have not had this problem with the Z4, but my wife's Lexus has it...

First pro wash (3 weeks ago) I noticed condensation in both headlights but it evaporated as soon as the sun hit it. Haven't noticed it in subsequent washing/detailings.

I had it once for a day and went away with sun light. None since.

Same story here. Noticed it after washing it. Car lives in an underground garage, but it went away by the next day.
