Oh.....My.....God.....I love it!!!

3 days with my new ZED, and i'm in love!
For all you guys waiting for delivery......it's worth every second of the wait believe me.(sorry for my comment last week JeF4y.....yours will be here soon!!)

The only downside is that i'm in the uk, and our weather here has been very wet all week so not been able to get the top down yet, or get any photos of her......but i will as soon as possible.
I have read on here a few threads about seats, wheels, and stereo systems and i would like to give my opinion on these to help with ordering/putting peolples mind at ease if they have already ordered.

Seats ; I have the standard seats, but have driven two demo cars both with sports seats. The sports seats do hold you in a lot more , but if you have the standard ones they are more than ok. For £475 extra.....worth it??.....debatable, if you have a budget i think you could spend your money on other options first!!

Stereo ; I have the standard system with USB Audio Interface and thats absolutley fine, allthough i haven't have the roof down yet so i can't comment on that one. I find myself turning it off to listen to the sound the car makes instead!!

Wheels ; I have the 18'' multi spokes and they look really good i'm so pleased. I had the 19'' V spokes on the demo and yes it looked more aggressive but the ride was a lot harder and our roads over here have a lot of potholes. I think i made the right choice as the 19'' tyres were £120.00 more EACH!! and if you do curb one, because they are machined alloy, they are not going to be easy to repair....maybe impossible??

If anyone has any other questions i would be happy to give my opinion....but beware!!! i love my new toy more than my wife at the moment so i won't have a bad word said aginst her!!!! lol

LOL. No worries mate! Just glad you got yours! Hell, I thought you already had it. I didn't know it was on order.

Congratulations on the ride, I can't wait for mine. What's kicking my ass is that a guy right up the road had his 1 series on the same boat as me, and picked it up last night. So I added around 17 days to my delivery by doing the PDC, but I'm very excited to do it and will be quite busy in the meanwhile.

Congrats again Lux...

-Jeff

Congrats - glad you are enjoying it. I think they really do have a special Z "feel good" factor about them. Lets hope the weather picks up and you can get her top off (the car I mean )

And we need to see some pics!!!

By the way Jeff.....my car was delivered to the dealer on Tuesday morning this week, and it was ready for collection by 5.30 pm. How come you are having to wait so long??

LMAO! I was going to make a comment about helping out since you were neglecting your wife, but, well, my sense of humor gets overlooked sometimes and offends people, so I didn't.

Steve.
In the US we have 3 options for delivery.

Dealer delivery:
Pick it up where you bought it

European delivery:
Trip to Germany to drive the car & then have it shipped home

Performance Center Delivery:
Delivery at a special center in the S.E. United States where you get to drive on a BMW owned race course in a car similar to that which you purchased, and other BMW lines as well. They take you through all of the features of the car, and what it can REALLY do, and you get to do some of it on a track.

After that, you get your car, and a specialist who will spend however long you need/want to personally set up your car with you. Then you drive it back home (which for me is about 825 miles). They also have tours of the BMW plant that is there, etc.

We opted for the PDC (or PCD, however you choose), as it was highly recommended from others and a nice chance to get away and experience a nice drive in the new car (home through the mountains).

At the time we ordered it, I didn't realize it would add to the wait, and if I would have chosen the dealer pickup we would have gotten it yesterday or today, but this is something we wanted to do so it's not that bad I guess...

Here's the online info on the PDC:
http://www.bmwusa.com/Standard/Conte...ryProgram.aspx

Since it was "free", I figured what the hell...
