Water ingress in passenger footwell
Oh dear, during my new seat install I noticed the floor was wet on the passenger footwell... I didn't notice it when I looked under the dash for the fuse box - I wonder if something has dislodged up there, or its just a door seal that has failed.
I can't find any threads on this, so I'm guessing it must be rare! Anyone else had a similar problem? Car is a 2010, but very low miles. |

Typically when this occurs (on most A/C equipped cars), it is caused by the A/C evap tube (which normally discharges condensation underneath the car when A/C is in use) being plugged and the flow backs up into the passenger compartment. I don't know exactly how all this is plumbed on a Z4, but that would be my guess as the cause of your problem.

Another place to look is to make sure the drains in the windshield cowl are not plugged.
Open the hood, and inspect the whole area where the black plastic is and where the water drains to. And... door drains. If you lay on the ground and look on the under side of the door with it open, there will be openings for rain water to drain out. |

Thanks guys, I'll have a look and post the results. I tend not to run the air conditioning as it makes a bit of a racket (I think I need to get that sorted first).. I'm guessing its rain (as I'm in the UK!).

It may be rain.... But still should not get inside your car. There is a reason.... Just track it down. Good luck!
