I walk out the front door, turn right, walk about 200 feet and see this...

Long Island on the water with a view of NYC

On our own private island, moat and all. We have a larger river in the back and the front river is a small branch that meets up with the main again after our house. Forgive me for the shitty pic, it's the only one I had on my phone. My work view is significantly more impressive as our building sticks into Long Island Sound.

I grew up on long island my whole life but moved into the city since its the place to be at the moment.
Is that a view of the tappanzee?

That moat is sick!!! It must be awesome to be able to say that your surrounded by a moat haha. Any problems with flooding though?

So far so good but we are in a flood zone. The house was built in 1935 and is clearly still standing but I know the previous owners had the basement flood in 2007 (that's the only FEMA claim on the property). They put in a massive sump system after that.

Yea I hear ya. I work in midtown so I need to get out of the city after work. LI offers all the creature comforts of being close to the city, but being able to turn it all off at any time.

I also spent most my life on the island and in Manhattan.... One day I will quit all of it and buy a mansion in Kentucky for 200k lol. But then again who am I kidding.

Just like it says in my profile to the left there. The Foothills of Mount Level. It's just plain flat here. But this road lends itself to triple digit speeds, or it did when I had my Z4.
