Haven't really explored much in terms of whiskeys and testing them side-by-side... The only thing I had in my cabinet was Johnnie Walker only because my FOB friends liked it enough for me to stock it... I've yet to try GJ, but have also had Crown Royal, JD and even Yukon Jack... But I still like Jameson's not just for the fact that I bought it for making Irish Car Bombs , it's pretty smooth. But I will try GJ if a thread is started about it.

Wow, finished off the GJ tonight and broke into the Dalmore 12. I'm thinking I like the GJ better. Maybe it's time to move from Scotch to Tennessee whiskey? I think my next buy will be Single Barrel.

I use to drink pretty much just scotch when I smoked cigars. Since I quit (almost, still smoke an occasional one here and there) I've been pretty much just drinking bourbon. On the rocks or in an old fashion or manhattan.

I had it at a bbq some years back. Someone brought back a bottle from the UK. It was okay. Had to mix it with some stuff. Absinthe by itself doesn't taste all that good.

Can't beat Buffalo Trace for the price. Kentucky.
If you try it you will never drink any Jack again. At least I haven't.

Regardless of whether I share your opinion on Tennessee whiskey, dear sir, there is "something wrong" with your grammar.

First I measured out how much I usually put in a glass since I don't have one of those cool special glasses for this, and then I put ice in the bottom of my cup and put the spoon and cube on top and proceeded to pour the liquor on top. Then lit it and let it go down into the cup. I then added parts of water as per bottle recommended and then set up some dr pepper for a chaser if needed. Me and my girl ended up taking a couple shots of it. Was much more tolerant around this time and didn't really need the chaser that much. Later on in the the night she was saying her stomach was on fire from it but I was good. I can't wait to make some more when we get a break. |

I love whiskey and bourbon. Not a Jack or Jim Beam fan though.
Angel's Envy is a nice smooth daily drinker. Another one I just picked up is this: NY whiskey, all corn, no rye. Good stuff. |

was referring to the glen thunder, it's a corn whiskey too. I can't imagine the Hudson whiskey tastes anything like it.

Ah. The Hudson is a little young but has a great taste. I first had it at a restaurant and felt a little guilty putting an ice cube in to develop the flavors. It's not as sweet as some bourbons.

I, however, prefer it with Sierra Mist. I haven't consumed any high fructose corn syrup for years now. Not only because it's bad for you but the super sweet and thickness on my tongue and throat is nasty. http://www.whiskeycatholic.com/2013/...buffalo-trace/

I looked, it was the White Dog that I was buying, so no aging and 125 proof. Needs mixing.
I have an old jug that once held pure maple syrup. It's now holding some White Dog with "Hooch" scrawled on the outside in magic marker |

BTW if anyone here is also a Tequila drinker, you might like this:
It's not exactly high end but it does a decent job of combining both worlds. I like it for quick shots or a flask. |
