Electronic Handbrake

Hi, wanted to know if anyone is aware of the speed limit of the electronic hand brake. I had the impression that you could not use it unless the car is stopped...
So, i was test driving a sdrive23i when out of the blue my passenger was curious on that little button... which looked like a can opener...and LIFT it!!!
we were cruising with 10-20 km/h at the time and it was like a boat hitting land... I think i will glue the little "can opener which is placed close to the passenger" when the car arrives...any thoughts??

Its a four wheel emergency brake when the car is in motion according to the BMW product knowledge base.

When the car is moving you need to hold the lever up to apply the emergency brake, which causes the car to perform an emergency stop. The brake lights also come on when you do this!

By the way anyone know about Coded Driveaway Protection ?

Do u need the optional comfort access to have coded driveaway protection or every bmw car has it even with the normal key ?

Sorry about my English..

yes, but strange there is no "speed limit" so imagine someone playing with it out of curiosity when you are driving...i do not dare...

I guess that's a lot like wondering if the car will go in PARK or REVERSE while driving down the highway... Common sense should dictate what one experiments with, but I guess common sense isn't very common...
