Trunk won't close when putting the top down
I tried putting the top down today and the top folded in the trunk lid but the trunk remained in the vertical position. I tried putting the top up and down several times but the trunk lid still remained in the vertical position.
I recently had the software upgraded, and this is the first time I've tried putting the top down since. I'm wondering if anyone has had a similar problem (yes, I searched the site). |

Never heard of that. If you had a software update, I'd bring it in.

Also make sure you have absolutely nothing in the two 'side' areas where the corners of the roof lands. If anything is there it might look like the roof is folded, but it might not be all the way down. I think this has tripped a few people over time.

I was going to mention the same thing. I forgot after shopping that I put a gallon of milk in the left small compartment. I closed the trunk, pushed the top button and all worked well until one brace, fortuantely it was just a brace, hit the top of the plastic milk bottle. Fortunately the top stopped, flashed the top button light red. I re-closed it and moved the milk. Lucky for me the top brace hit the cap square on and crushed the top down a few inches, but did not puncture the carton! When I lowered it the second time all was fine. So, do check very carefully for ANYTHING around or on top of the pull down cover for the top. Lesson learned for me.

The only way I found that the roof will stow in the trunk when something is in one of the side volumes was when that something was a package of light bulbs. The roof just crushed the package with a loud glass breaking noise and I shite my pants thinking it was the rear window breaking!

I also experienced the same problem where the top went down but the trunk lid would not come down. I went back and checked and I had my coat lying on top of the cargo cover. It was a thin coat but thick enough that the top wouldn't go down far enough for the trunk to close. Moved the coat and problem solved!
