Pic of Painted calipers

Ok, i couldn;t stand to look at the ugly stock caliper and rusty clip any longer. So here is today's project.

I would do this buy my dealership said if there was a warranty claim on the brakes and the part was painted it would not be covered.

Are you guys removing the calipers before painting? Or masking them/the area with a kit.

I had mine powder coated and therefore needed to be completely disassembled. Worth it though. Powder coating is much more durable than regular painting so I won't have to redo it.

I depends on your guys lead time. You've got one day to disassemble the calipers, it took my guy 3 days to powdercoat, then another day to reassemble. So figure like a week.

I will post. some pictures of my painted, while on the car calipers.
I super super cleaned all pieces on the caliper to be painted.
I used with brake cleaner, then sanded, then wire brushed and cleaned some more.
I spend again least 2 hours cleaning each caliper with Great results.
For paint while on the rotor, I then fully masked off everything.
I used VHT High Temp paint with no primers.
Mine are almost 1 year year old and absolutely no peeling, chipping, cracking etc.
Cost me 8 hours and $20. 00 in materials.

I used VHT High Heat Spray can paint.
Lots of taping off.
Lots of upfront cleaning. Probably close to an hour per caliper of cleaning prior to painting.
