What's the amp for our 2 cig lighter outputs?
I'm very layman re fuses, but here goes.
I bought this pump and it has a 15A fuse. I read some reviews therein and it's concerning because apparently it has blown the car's fuse (for the cig lighter, I assume) of several customers. I guess that's because their car's fuse for the cig lighter is lower than 15A, or else the pump's fuse would blow instead? As such, I wish to know the fuse rating for our 2 cig lighter outputs (in the passenger footwell and in the centre console) before plugging in this pump. Who the heck designed this crazy thing, esp since it's only intended to be plugged into cig lighters? What the heck were they thinking? Thx in advance. |

Did you look in the manuel for a fuse box and amperage listing?
There is also a fuse box listing located in the cover of the fuse box cover located in the top of the passenger side foot well. Pian in the neck to remove but easy with patience.

Manual says that it's up to 200W and 12 volts, so does that mean amperage=watts/volts=200/12=16.67amps? If this figure is correct, then since the air compressor is at 15 amps and hence lower, then I should be ok?
