You can send route via the BMW connected drive website, log on, go to route planner, that opens up new page, log on again and it opens up a bmw version of google maps where you can enter and edit a route then send to car, I think the instructions of how to send your route to the car are on that webpage.

JohnT - Thanks I will do that. Just using google maps direct seems a little easier to plan a complicated route. I am driving down to Napoli (Italy) next month and want to drive across as many of the challenging mountain passes as possible!

My experience of this is that it sends the destination only and not a planned route? I spent a while making a route once only to find the messages bit in the car holds just a destination and the route work I had done was wasted as the car plotted a new route based on just the destination!?

ManiacGT have you tried to import bmw own routes? I have had no problems saving my routes and then importing them. Did you save the the routes first?

It's only in places where Connected Drive is available, which isn't many and doesn't include the US. It does, indeed, suck.
