Post YOUR E89 Wheel & Tire Questions and Photos With Specs
Digging through tons of threads is a bummer. Especially when you still don't find an answer to your question. Could someone consolidate all of the wheel and tire spec info into one thread? It would also be handy if everyone would post pics of their Z4s with suspension, wheel and tire specs here in one place for reference?
My question is: I want to stay with a square setup on my 30is with Eibach Pro springs, but go a little wider and +1. I've had staggered setups on previous cars, and, while it looks great, it sucks to not be able to rotate tires. So I'm thinking 18x8.5 et30 with 245/35 or 235/40 tires. Is there any fitment issue with these? I like that the 235 is slightly taller. I'd like them to look as flush as possible. Will I need a spacer in the back? If so, what size, and will I need longer lug bolts? Thanks in advance. Old specs: 17x8, 225/45R17 with Eibach Pro springs. Pretty boring right now. Last edited by KIRK!; 05-26-2018 at 08:49 PM.. |

I have a 2016 28i, with the same wheels and tires as your original set (17x8, 225/45R17).
Your new wheels & tires look fantastic. I’m not planning on new wheels (actually like the stock wheels as is), but I would like to go to 235/45R17, non run-flat. Will they fit the stock wheels? Should I be concerned with the increase in diameter from 25” to 25.3”? Thanks all!

My car is a 2010 3.0si 6 speed with 12K miles on the odometer. I've set the car up to handle like a sports car rather than like a touring car. It has an E46 M3 rear suspension and an E90 M3 front suspension, Grountd Control camber plates, Turner strut bar, Koni FSD shocks, H&R sway bars and stock springs. I've upgraded to 330i front brakes with 340x30mm rotors. It rides on TSW Bathurst 18x8.5 front and 18x9.5 rear rims mounted with 245/35-18 front and 265/35-18 rear Firestone 500 (rebranded Bridgestone R003's) tires. I also added an oil cooler for hot Florida weather, oil and water temperature gauges and an oil pressure gauge. I've removed the side and rear badges and painted the side lights and reflectors to clean up the lines of the car.

Here's some crappy cell photos of my set up. It should be noted that the rear has settled ever so slightly since these photos were taken.
Car: 2013 35is Suspension: H&R sport springs, E9X front control arms, Turner adjustable rear camber arms, H&R sways, 5mm spacers front, 10mm spacers rear Wheels: stock style 326 wheels (19 x 8 et29 front, 19 x 9 et 40 rear) Tires: Michelin Pilot 4s 225/35r19 front, 255/30r19 rear I eventually want to go to KW V3 and 19" BBS LM-Rs but I've spent WAY too much money on this thing this year.

Let's revive this thread. Anyone else care to share their wheel set-up? I'm in the market for an upgrade as I can't keep my stock 326s from bending on these crap L.A. roads.

to run flat or not to run flats...
Hi all.
I'm thinking of going with non run flats when I replace my tires next week. Can I assume those of you who have done this, simply purchase the pump and goo pack from bmw? I have never used one of these and am interested in your experience. Can I rely on this setup with no spare at home? Lastly, is the result better or worse in the end. I. E. Handling on stock suspension? Thanks |

Jesus; don't buy the kit from BMW! There are much cheaper alternatives on Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/Slime-50123-F.../dp/B0732F1YZX) which I'm sure are available to you in OZ. I have this set up in the trunk of my wife's DD Z4, but have never had to use it. Non run-flats will transform the ride of your car and offer better handling and/or wear (depending on the specific tire you use). AND they're a helluva lot cheaper. I just put a new set of Bridgestone Potenza S-04 Pole Positions on her car for under $800 US ($1140 Australian) installed.

Due for a new set of 18" tires and probably will do the Pilot Sports.
Maybe it's time to upgrade wheels too. Have always really liked the style 326 wheels but do not want to go to a 19" wheel. Anyone know of an 18 inch wheel that is similar to the 326s? (I assume the 326 is not made in an 18) |

I agree with Paris1. Get the Slime from Amazon or WalMart.
Another thing to consider is Michelin gives you a 3 year road hazard warranty. They'll come out and change your flat or tow you up to 150 miles for no charge. I feel pretty comfortable with the Slime kit and the backup Mich warranty. |

Yep. Picked up a slime kit today. 60 bucks on sale. It's a bit bigger than the bmw kit but less than half the price. Pretty happy with that. Tyres tomorrow. |

Hey tommylotto,
Is it possible to see a full side view from further back (across the street)? I've been thinking about black wheels and caliper covers and would like to see how it looks from some short distance. Thank you! |

Hey Kirk, it looks like you swapped out the front kidney grilles. Is that the glossy black or matte black?
It also looks liked like you de-badged. Did you use the fishing wire method, and did you de-badge the rear also? Last edited by Zed4USA; 05-18-2019 at 01:21 PM.. Reason: [sp] |

2014 Z4 35i M Sport
Wheels: Apex EC-7 18x9 E31 Tires: Federal SS595 Front: 255/35/18 Rear: 265/35/18 The front does just barely fit the 265 without any rub on a stock suspension, so I'll be going to a square setup with those. |

Hi Guys,
I have a 2010 35i E89 and need to find some replacement alloys due to failing weld repair. I am considering these, taken from the new G29. Is there any way of establishing if these would fit as a straight swap? I already have 19" wheels. Thanks Steve https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/19-inch-S....c100903.m5276 |

G29 wheels will not directly fit an E89. Both the bore diameter and wheel bolt holes are different. Check out this link for a comparison and scroll to the bottom to see the specs for E89 and G29.

I have tyre pressure monitoring - is there more than one configuration for Z4's?
If your vehicle has an existing TPMS, it will either function Directly from TPMS Tyre Valves, or Indirectly from the vehicle's AB |

Here's 9J ET30 with 245 slicks which is possible with some 2-3deg camber up front. Ideally you would run 255/35R18 instead of 245/40 with this square setup. 245/40 is a bit too tall up front. Im on stock springs up front and eibach pro rear. |
