Falcon Flyer, did you get the BMW App working? Did you need the dock, or was just having the app active on the iPhone enough?

Well.. no I have not gotten it working. Again, I don't have the cradle... but running the app before I hook it up still has not had any affect... so I guess I have to take a trip to the dealer to see what is up....

Also quick question, those who hook into their iPhones in on the 2012 cars.. do you get album art?

Yes.

Although, I find the cradle in the Z4 a PITA as you can't use anything on the screen (i.e. if you get a text message). I actually now keep an iPod connected to the USB in the center console and only use the cradle on longer drives. I don't use the iPhone for music as it's not predictably in the cradle.

Been looking to get an extender cable for the cradle, but then I'm not sure where I want to mount the iPhone... If I didn't like the drink holder I might mount it there and in that case keep it connected all the time.

Why do these always seem to be made to block the air vents... surely there must be another position on the dash...

Thank you, Gary. My SA also just told me the same thing. We need the cradle for full functionality.

Congratulations, I have the same car, a blue iS with everything. The BMW Apps on mine works great with both a cable and a cradle. I do have the cradle, but I can also simply use the USB cable I on mine I get full functionality.
