Understood. With A/C no problem to me too. But I mean that if you supply warm air to the evaporator instead of fresh one, the chilling effects of the evaporator will be less efficient. Same issue with home A/C. When it's very hot it's harder to obtain chilly air because of the higher temperature differential.

BTW, I noticed the same issue with recirculation. In theory it should bypass the external air intake: do you know where do the HVAC system get the air inside the car when recirculating?

thought I'd reply here instead of opening a new one

If you have the auto climate control and set the it to AUTO and cooler then current temp, lets say 68 on an 80 degree day will it turn on the AC to reach that temp, even if you dont click the AC button?

No. You have to have the AC on. If the set temp is above ambient temp, the AC is not active; if it's below ambient temp, it's active
