E89 LCI due in 2013 - perhaps overdue?
Greetings E89'rs!
I've been a long-time BMW fan and just can't get enough of them! The E89 is one of the sexiest cars I've ever seen, at any price! I'm very excited to start my early research on my next Bmer, the sDrive28i. I currently own a 2012 BMW xDrive35i X5, and love it. But as a daily driver, it's a bit bulky to chuck around the German back roads, and the fuel economy (based on my heavy foot) really takes a hit and I'm averaging just 18mpg. I'm very excited about the idea of the new 4-banger getting an average in the mid 20s! The issue isn't so much the fuel cost, but the fuel range. I love taking long trips, and the new 28i would really let me get all the way through the Swiss alps and down to the Italian coastline, with gas to spare. *** Now to my point... I'm holding out for the LCI. Based on BMW's track record, with a mid-life-cycle refresh coming at the 4 year point, it should be due in MY13. I really liked the improvements that came on the LCI X5, and I know BMW will want to keep people excited about the Z4 for a few more years until the next major upgrade. So.. What do I expect for the 2013? Well, just like the rest of the range, I expect the halos to go LED. The parking sensors will be included, as well as the Premium sound system (The same happened for the X5). Those 3 items (although not as important for many) are very important to me, and I think they are worth holding out for. Of course, I expect there to be a slight price bump to compensate for it, but I'm hoping there will be a few other nice little tweaks. Any other rumors you guys have heard about MY13? |
