Cobb stage1+ Dyno results

Dyno results 2011 Z4 35i manual. Air temp 70 F.
I recently installed an ER competition FMIC. Below are Dyno results of BMW stock map and Cobb Stage 1+ Aggressive ST. Pulls were done in 4th gear.
Other mods are:
BMS OCC, LED angles, stubby ant, and Windrestrictor.

Since you got an FMIC you should be able to run stage II correct? I wonder how much higher the HP number would be on stage II.

Unless I'm interpreting the map notes incorrect for stage 2 I need downpipes. I'm still running stock cats. Based on my local and RFT's with only 3100 mi. (will go PSS after trashing the RFTs) the wheel power is more than adequate for now.

??

I love the numbers but I'm confused.

Your gains seem more like a stage 2 tune. Your TQ numbers ( which I love) seems high for Cobb's stage 1.

I don't know what to say. I am running on fresh plugs, coils, and injectors (warranty).

Indeed it might be downpipes and FMIC. I guess you know what your next gift to the Z will be.

Great results! I'm assuming 93 Octane? You guys are lucky you have it! Still trying to decide between JB4 and Cobb.

elevation 137' above sea level

nice #s OP!

From the dynos I've seen the FMIC gives more gains than the DP, so I'm not surprised

I just received confirmation from Cobb that my numbers are in line for Stage 1 + with FMIC.

I have ESS stage 2 and they reckon I should get 390HP at the crank not wheels. This is stock everything including the intercooler.

I know dyno dyamic run high but yours is at 380+HP at the wheels????

A FMIC won't give that much gain esp. when stationary!!

Simple question that will answer everything: What boost are you running?

I guess we're comparing apples to oranges... 2 different tunes... 2 different setups... one stock and one with an upsized FMIC. I will try to record boost when roads are clear and safe (snow). My understanding is that the Dyno Dynamics Dynamometer is actually conservative.

Below was Cobb response.

"Bob,

Yes, those numbers are right in line for the expectations with Stage 1 + FMIC. The upgraded FM makes a huge difference, nearly as much as the downpipes (sometimes more), on the N54 powered cars. Looks like it might be time for an LSD upgrade in your near future!

Let me know if you have any additional questions!"

Though the car is not moving, dyno facilities typically use large fans at the front of the car to simulate the effect of air on a moving vehicle.

Correct, 2 large fans with bonnet up. Felt like a wind tunnel. I included the stock BMW 35i flash pull as a reference. (uninstalled Stage 1+after pulls). All pulls included the upgraded FMIC.

I am dying to know the numbers for the stage 2 for your case...

I was pretty skeptical when you said it was stage1 but if the guy from the cobb said its the right one then it is, I guess.

How much more power would stage 2 and downpipes add to the 382.4?

Not sure. With the upgraded FMIC and DP I could run stage 2+. I'll probably re Dyno (different shop for comparison) in spring when I take it out of winter "Hibernation". I'll probably keep setup as is until CPO warranty expires.

Even these are nice results, Bob. It will be interesting to see what happens if/when you add the downpipes and go Stage 2.

Those numbers are great, especially just being on Stage 1. I'm on Stage2+ LT Aggressive at the moment, no dyno yet. With the AP, I monitor the torque. When I floor it almost till the pedal hits the floor, I see torque numbers hit 500+ while in Sport mode (DCT) . Since you are getting those numbers just with FMIC, I can't wait to see mine. I am FBO so hopefully I get 430-450 with dyno and custom tune.
