Wind deflectors
Hi All,
Does anyone know if the wind deflector is any good? Does it do what it's suppose to do? If anyone who has their new z4 and has a wind deflector, can you please comment. I didn't order one with my 35i but i wondering whether i should get one later or can live without it. (it does give a bit of privacy too). mav. |

on italian cars wid deflectors are standard and very effective to reduce turbolence around the head , also at 120km/h i noticed that thissystem is really well done, no air ...not so much anyway......
if you are planning to use the car mostly with top down I suggest to get it, it's worth really something..... Francesco from italy |

I definitely will be using it all year round with the top down. I did take one for a test drive but it had not wind deflector and with the windows down it was quite buffy in the cabin. I'm not sure if that's just me (as this is my first convertible) or it's usually like that in convertibles.
I'm thinking that the wind deflector should eliminate almost all of the back draft in the cabin. It probably makes a big difference whether you have the windows up or down too. Might have to take one that has a wind deflector for a test drive. thanks for your comments. mav. |

Is the Wind Deflector any good?
Yes is the simple answer.
Had the car now for 5 days.....WITH a Wind Deflector...and it DOES work as advertised.....but sheesh, it's no bargain at £205 + VAT (UK £, less a tickle of a discount) With ALL 4 windows UP & deflector UP, the turbulence in the cabin is minimised AND a normal conversation is no problem up to around 70 - 80mph. 80mph.....NO I never go THAT fast! I don't need it - no hair. Sweetheart has gallons of hair.....and to remain 'sweet' the WD is a must Surely, the best way to decide is to personally try it first on a demonstartor. Even then, you can order it AFTER delivery....it's not like M-Adaptive suspension which is not exactly an 'easy' aftermarket fit |

My deflector arrived today from Husker BMW of Lincoln, NE. Yeah, I know RD, it's a convertible but while I have very little hair, my wife insists on trying to keep hers looking beautiful. At any rate, for the deflector and 2 new rear roll bar covers, I paid, $342. Now if my car would just arrive. It leaves Bremerhaven tomorrow.

I drive with roof down mostly at night (too hot here)
with wind deflector makes the rear view mirror glaring from light from cars behind. I'm thinking about the glass deflector from HARTGE
