2014 Cayman S or 2015 F type S

Ok, I need your help.
Currently I am looking for a weekend toy for my wife and myself.
I have e92 M3 6spd, my wife have GLK350 4matic.
I have narrowed my choices to (considering budget)

1. 2015 F type S
2. 2015 Cayman S

I have drove f type S today, and it was *wow. Interior is better than M3 or Cayman. The exhaust note is aweeeesome. Cornering, driving seems so much better than M3. The big moonroof is so great. I like everything about the car except well not a big deal but, the limited vision in the front and blind spots. It reminds of my z4m coupe I sold 3 years ago. Well I miss the car

2. Next vehicle I am considering is Cayman S, I was running out of time so I could not test drive one as expected. However, interior was classic but not as nice as the f type. However, I am sure the driving will be nice. I am looking forward to drive it next week.

Anyone have experience on both vehicles? they both are used, and the one f type I am looking at has CPO warranty until 2020. I would like to hear your opinions, I wish I could get 991, but its out of my budget.

Cayman S everyday...a buddy of mine has the F Type...great looking vehicle, sounds incredible but it has two big knocks against it. First, after only one year the vehicles poor quality/craftsmanship came through. Paddle shifters peeling, start stop button faded, leather wearing prematurely, etc...relatively small things but I was very surprised and it would have driven me crazy if it were mine. Second, I think these cars don't hold their value well vs the Cayman.

If this is a 3rd car for the weekend, then Cayman S all day, every day.

Cayman S. More to differentiate it from your E92.

Well since I'm the resident F-Type Coupe R ambassador (at least I feel that way--and people are probably sick of seeing my car!), I say go with the F-Type!!! IMHO, it's gorgeous and a beast (at least in R trim). However, she's a heavy girl, and comparing to a Cayman, you may feel the weight even more. But Cayman seems to be common compared to the Jag, at least in my neck of the woods. And look at that ass!!!

Though I shouldn't be surprised I really am about the wear in the F-type because they look incredible and they look very solid. I guess Germans really do make the tightest cars.

R trim is way over my budget, not what I am looking for.
But I do agree it looks/sounds gorgeous.

Depending on the trim, RWD or AWD, and trans (manual only available in base and S) weight ranges from 3400+ to 3800+ for my R. MY '16 Rs here in the States only come in AWD w/8-sp. People are always surprised to hear how heavy it is considering it is basically an all aluminum 2-seater. But adding up the heavy V8, AWD, auto, glass roof, and what seems like everything being automated (really, we need automated hvac vents???), creates one fat cat! But I love it for what it is!

As someone who owned an f-type (v8 version) for over two years, I can offer some opinions. If you like driving, go with the Cayman. Go for the f type if you like cruising and smashing the gas pedal from stop lights.
The jaguar sounds great, looks fantastic and will make you feel special when seen driving. Its short comings are that it’s heavy, has outdated infotainment system, and not up to par –when comparing to the germans- in built quality. Trims and paints leave a lot to be desired at this price range. Also service and dealership experience is below BMW, MB, and Lexus.
As a 3rd vehicle -maybe 2nd- you will enjoy it but it wouldn’t be my choice for one and only car with two seats and limited trunk space (even in the coupe) and the low clearance. Have fun shopping.

The Jag all day everyday! Much more "presence" and more practical and comfortable to ride in everyday. Are you tracking the car?
The F Type is one of the Sexiest cars on the road today. Interior is very nice as well. I'm pretty sure 99% of women given the opportunity would prefer the Jag.

Women also prefer SLK ,and a pink MINI, are you going to get one?

Get a cayman gts. You can't get anything else that is so driver focus ,and involement in the porsche brand, beside a gt3. Outside the porsche brand, you'll have to look at a 458 speciale, yeah ,it's that good.

So I came close to making the move from a 2016 cayman s to a manual 2017 type f s. I have driven the f type in 3 variants now s awd auto, r auto and s manual and so have some decent seat time in an f type.

Looks wise the f type wins aside from the front view.

It is definitely a bigger car so if you value a compact package (he he) then cayman wins

Both sound good. I think the porsche flat six is s little more unique and enjoyable.

Handling cayman wins. Ride jag wins by a mile.

Power is similar. But throttle response is much better in the porsche.

Interior in porsche wins

Manual trans in cayman is better.

In the end depends on what u r looking for. Cayman wins for me in overall driving experience and engagement. Jag is better looking and more unique.
In the end for me i just didn't think i would enjoy driving the jag as much as the cayman so i stuck with the Cayman. Good luck!

Some MEN like myself, value the opinions of their lovely wives. I certainly do. And she certainly appreciates it. With that being said, he mentioned his girl in the post so obviously she is a consideration in this vehicle decision. As she should be.

But hey, it's his bread and decision.

x2 on the Cayman GTS. Drive one and you'll be sold in about two minutes.
