Illuminated door sills

Hi all... Newbie to the Z4 forum but not BMW.

Picking up my 2014 28i on 6/21... Thinking of picking up a set of the illuminated door sills (purely for aesthetics obviously)... Has anyone had these installed by the dealer or done yourself?

If you did it yourself what would you say the difficulty level was?

I did this in 2011. They look great. Mind you I had the shop do it for me only because I wasn't comfortable doing the wiring. Others did the work themselves and have said it was pretty straight forward.

I'm not a fan of the look of them. If they didn't do that weird ellipse around the Z4, I would have absolutely ordered them on mine. Just something about the weird ring that looks cheesy to me.

I would have ordered one if it was an illuminated M emblem. Even if that would look cheese as hell.
