better to convert back to stock if selling?
Whats your thoughts? Will i get a higher value with the original parts back in? or at least looking original?

in my experience stock equals better re-sale in most cases. better to part mods and sell. better to sell car stock. general rule of thumb is maybe 20% return on mods if still on the car. many people don't want a modded car so you limit your options. some are fearful that mods equal driving the car hard.

Look at another example ... this ///M3 a e46 was extensively modified it is track ready and is a wonderful car ... however mostly or only appeals to individuals that take there car to the track. Most of those fellows do have a car they take to the track and have spend thousands on there car. Bottom line in my opinion is your chances of a sale are reduced unless it is stock. Here is the e46 example I am talking about ===> Click to Open

Always return your car to stock, then part out the mods.

I want to bring a different point of view.
In my opinion, I would say it depends on your mods. A nicely/sober upgraded car and well maintained could be easier to resell. I have examples of cars with simple and nice mods (wheels, painted caliper breaks, few interior upgrades, minor engine mods), that was easier to resell than the stock version. It can make your car better looking compared to other same model car that people can find in the market. However, your mods must please as many people as possible. |
