Same Hall switch used on Rolls Royce, no wonder cost massively increased.

Today I swapped position on the two hall sensors, so now I have tested the new hall sensor in both positions, but still the same problem.
I have also checked the connectors and cables to hall sensor, and they look ok. |

Please describe exact, what happens, when you try to open the roof until it stops.
If nothing happens, provide a possible fault code AFTER resetting any existing codes. |

Got the video...
#1 second 18: roof package is landing #2 second 19: roof package got teared down #3 second 20: hydraulic pump continues to run #4 second 23: timeout of the CTM, as sth. is not ok. Irritating for me is #2. It looks, as if the roof package got stopped by a mechanical issue while sinking into the trunk. Normally it sinks down an gets electrically locked by the two front locking hooks. Last edited by RobbiZ4; 02-13-2022 at 03:51 AM.. |

Did you really replace these 2 microswitches and reworked the plugs?
Do you have sharp pictures of both hall sensors as posted earlier? Quote:

Yes, I have replaced both micro switches with new ones. I used the old plugs and soldered the wires.
Here is a picture of the other sensor (the one with red wires is currently installed in the car, photos of that one is earlier in this thread.) |

Thanks.
Just to confirm, as this hall sensor looks perfect: is that "yellow" hall sensor the new (replaced) one? Then it should be fine, of course. The "red" HS is in it's current position responsible for the "trunk lid is open" signal. Did you have a look at my former question regarding the red HS? Quote:

I now changed the hall sensor with red wires and installed the one that looks good (last posted photo), but still the same problem.
Bigendbob: I also question that switch you have circled since it is in this stage the sequence stops. I can hear the switch clicking so the roof package lands on this switch. As the roof lies in the trunk I can lift the roof package by hand and I can hear the switch clicking. The question is does the switch work? If I follow the cable I can't see the connector since it disappears into a bunch of cables. Anyone know where I can measure this switch? |

This switch in the circle registers the landing of the roof package. If you can hear it switching, everything should be fine. It is really seldom, that there is a fault with it. But it's possible of course. I'f replaced mine two years ago. This switch is connected to the CTM.
But, what about the 2nd drop down in the trunk? When clicked, the e-motor of the front locking system (at the front of the front roof shell) starts to close and lock the package in the trunk. After this step got completed, you should NOT be able to lift the roof package manually. Regarding the hall sensor: I'm still missing a sharpe pic of the front side of the original red one. There is a special situation in the software of the CTM, as it stops actions very late (delayed), if any of the two hall sensors switches too late ot not at all. This can't be checkd only by exchanging both with each other.

So the roof package not locking on the roof locking motor, or perhaps only on left, reason why the roof package jerks then drops on the right. Do these limits tell the system the bar is in correct position as well a start stop it's motor?

If any is missing, the pump continues to run and the roof package does not lock in the trunk. These 2 swiches only detect the open or close limits, not left or right in any way.

Thanks, seems to be ok.
Please check the physical blocker, that prevents the roof package to dive into the trunk in only one single step (seconds 18 + 19). Was there anywhen in the past a blocking situation in the trunk by luggage or sth. else in the right or left restricted area?

The physical blocker seems ok, if its not in place it will not allow the roof to fold down in to the trunk.
There has not been any objects on right/left side of the blocker. |

Is the roof package locked at sec. 20 or can you lift it by hand? A 2nd person could suppot you to get it checked. |
