Steering Wheel or Paddles Switch Out ?

My old Z4 had these push/pull, both sides work the same paddles (A) which I hated. Some people say "well you get used to them". Well I didn't and I won't go back.

My question is, is there a way to either switch to the newer style paddles (B) or completely swap out steering wheels? I stopped by a BMW dealer and talked to a service advisor, he was pretty dismissive with his "nope can't do it".

I know there's a way to rewire the old style paddles so they function like the new style, but I just want a total swap of either paddles or steering wheel.

I'm currently looking for a car to buy, but I won't even consider an '11 or older if it has these paddles. I'd like to be able to consider those cars because of the lower prices.

Thanks.

You can purchase the pull style paddles somewhere online and there is a tutorial on YouTube of a guy showing how to remove the airbag component and then removing the push/pull paddles and installing the new pull style paddles. It's pretty much plug and play. The pull style paddles runs about $450 I believe.

I thought there had to be a way. I'm a technical idiot, I would imagine the trick would be to find someone willing to do it for me.

Here's a tutorial I made to show how to swap them out. The hardest part is releasing the blind clips that hold the air bag.
