What's better? Top up our down?
So Z4 gurus... what's better longer term? Keep top down to not wear out electrics and hydraulics or keep the top up to keep the tension off cables and tubes, but run the top up and down alot?
I am fortunate to have my Z4 as a fair weather weekend car and live in Florida and keep in a climate controlled garage... |

I’m far from an expert, and my Z4 is in an unheated storage unit for winter but I do take it for a 30 mile drive when the temperature gets up to 50F. I never cycle the roof though. Once the temps get into the 60’s then I do. I have found it to be a cold blooded car, especially since it doesn’t have heated seats.

I am in the UK and my only car is the Z4 and it lives outdoors. The roof is up most of the time.
My roof goes down when the sun is out and back up as soon as the sun goes back in, so it is down for probably about a tenth of the time I use the car Now I am having the usual Z4 roof issues too, so not really even worth having a convertible at all really. |

Just a thought. Leave it down to keep all the weather stripping from being compressed.
