Anyone with muffler delete?

I have a few friends whom did a muffler delete on their 335s and they sound amazing. Loud with some drone on the highway, but overall not too loud, just perfect. I was wondering if anyone has seen this done on a e89. I was considering on doing it on mine.

the golf t mod only changes the exhaust note for the first few minutes of driving. once its warmed up the valve opens up anyway.

For my tastes, sec. cats delete is just perfect in terms of sound improvements.

No drone at all, a lot of "blurps" on downshifting and "stumps" on upshifting.

I'm talking about a DCT car.

Love it!

not necessarily, after certain RPM, on low rpm its mostly closed (self tested, based on sound)

deleting mufflers is a much more radical way to get sound, nothing in commun whit the golf t mod.

thats true, common aspect is exhaust sound, both change it and as u said removing mufflers is more radical and make exhaust much louder, the question is, louder in a good way? ....thats what i was referring to

you're right i dont think it'll sound great. i had already done that on motorbikes in the past and the exhaust sound was horrible.

I think I am going to try it out, cut the mufflers off at the welding point, and clamp on some 2.5 pipe, and the tips. If I dont like it take it to a shop and have them welded back on, no biggie.... I will make a video when I do it. In the meantime I need to find some tips... Any input on these ones? 4" outlet, double wall

As there is no BMW Performance exhaust available, I will try this sound improvement soon, because I don't want to remove the cats.

A spare 35iS-exhaust I already ordered.
I don't know yet which tip style I will chose. My 100 mm OEM-look tips vs. my 100 mm OEM-look-tips with CF-coating vs. 100 mm Akrapovic-CF-tips. We will see...

I will post pics on my threat in the gallery: http://e89.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=798894

I don't mean to thread jack but this is also a pretty old thread anyway but here is my .02

I wanted more sound out of my car and muffler delete was one of the options as I didn't want to throw down $3,000 for the Eisenmanns. However, as my car was a DD and I do have a highway commute, I decided the drone wasn't something I wanted to hear every morning if I did the muffler delete. Ended up getting a 35is muffler from a user on here, figured it would be the best of both worlds. Better sound but without the drone. Ended up selling the car before I had them installed... FS here if anyone is interested.
