Ditto. The car looks good minus the silver mirrors and the rear bumper. I could live with the front bumper, but that rear bumper has to go. In this case sometimes less is more. BMW got it right the first time around. I like the wheels.

they did get it right the first time around. THe design the way it was, was classic. They did however have the silver mirrors on the z8, and I think they were going for the look of copying it. I never found that mirrors were stylish enough that it added to the look to accentuate them. But I think its like critisizing they way megan fox did her hair with a new hair style. Its still megan fox.

Normally I would want the latest and greatest, but not in this case.

.. Well I think we are all motivated to prefer whatever we've already invested in. Saying that they got it right the first time, coupled with the fact you happen to own said model, certainly lends credence to your stance.
However, those of us who have invested in this new model may feel, as I do, that I look forward to those small styling cues that set it apart from the 23i, 30i and 35i. Personally I believe that across the range this generation of Z4 is going to become immensely popular in the coming years... i mean just look at it... I wanted something that was a little different that some like, some don't, but nobody mistakes what it is. That being said, I went for Black Sapphire which will serve to play up the mirrors while downplaying the rear fascia. The mirrors will key in on the Wheels, Grill, Roll bars and the black/silver interior... |

I think the silver mirrors with the black car will be stunning. However you are wrong when you state that my feelings are due to the fact that I like what I already have. I clearly stated that normally I always want the latest. In this case, I truly don't. I have sold or traded cars that were only 15 months old for this very reason. I know what I like. I will reiterate that BMW got it right the first time around in this case. Good luck with your car. I can't wait to see the silver mirrors with the black. That I do believe will look awesome.

for me....i like the front is bumper better than non-is front bumper. i hate the rear is bumper. silver side mirror covers will look good or bad depending on the color of the car. in general, i like them now.

..and I respect your right reiterate your opinion that they got it right the first time.
Personally, I would be annoyed that they held back on the original model. Clearly it was their intent to rope suckers like myself into buying a sharpened version of what should have been the standard from the get go. So my baby will have a little junk in her trunk.. I can live with it because all the other points of her makeover are very intriguing. |
