Ski load through

Did anybody try to put their skis into this ski load through?

After reading the post about the extended storage, I am now really hesitating, as it seems more sense to order just the extended storage and use the opening to carry skis in their bags. My skis are 175cm.

Thanks already!

I have the package although I'll probably never use it for skis. In the U.S. you can get the ski bag seperately but the cold weather pkg adds the storage pkg. I think.

You probably don't need the ski bag but it includes the support in the trunk and tie down straps. It would make it safer to transport them.

Hello rasputin

Watch out.

In Switzerland the extended storage package does NOT include the load through option.

If you order the load through option the ski bag is always included.

The content of the packages varies from country to country. Check the Swiss price list for details.

If you want to transport skis you will have to order the load through option!

PS: Just read the other thread. Seems my information is not 100% correct in this case. I am puzzled that the opening is there even when not ordering the load through option. I would make sure and check with the dealer as there have been a lot of misconfigurations at the beginning of production of the E89. Maybe this is not intended to be like that and BMW can change this without notice. So when placing your order you should make sure.

Hi there,

Yes, the ski load through option and the extended storage are two different options. As far as I understand:

1- the extended storage adds a few shelves on the back panel. The whole shelf piece is removable, which opens a hole that could be used to put skis, etc.

2- The ski load through option puts a plastic bag on this hole, so no access to the boot.

So my question is how useful is this ski bag option, can I still put my skis (in their own bags) through the opening of the extended storage option.

Thanks
