Regardless of this review I still think the Z4 best looking BMW in a while. We struggle hard between this and the 135i cab. The cab had a bit more space and flexibility so it own out.

It looks like a fairly usual case of a review that is trying to sell the car, disregarding the fact that anyone interested in a car of this class would expect hard data, not fluff. But a review is just a review - the car is a real beauty.

There is another test of the 35is in Auto Motor und Sport this week.

Comparative test of Roadsters with more than 300 bhp: Audi TTRS vs BMW Z4 sDrive35is vs Nissan 370Z vs Porsche Boxster S.

I found one in that online magazine dated March 21, 2010 but it was for the 35i, and didn't include the 370z.

Here's a Babel Fish translation from German to English - you have to sort through it to get the idea.

It's not online I'm afraid.

I've not analyzed it thoroughly but:
Rankings:
1. tt-rs
2. Z4
3. porsche
4. nissan

For the Z4 they do complain a lot about the car body rolling way too much in curves and the unprecise steering.

I do not know what their standards are, I found the handling of the 35i was quite correct before ordering the 35is. Now that I read that I'm a bit disappointed I must say.

As I received my 35is last week it is too early to say what the handling is all about.
Compared to my E92 335i (manual) I can already say that the torque certainly makes a difference ! Still getting used to the DCT though ...

I also bought the magazine and the performance numbers are pretty impressive !

I think that's easy enough to fix without a lot of expense. The anti-roll bars could be increased in size which ought to take care of most of the problem considering that BMW has firmed up the springs and the dampers a bit already.

One could really fix it but that would no doubt hinder ride quality, and that's the compromise with using analog approaches - handling vs ride quality. It's a shame BMW didn't include Active Roll Stabilization, but no doubt that would have added to the weight, and I think they're working on a more minimalist approach for the roadster.

Not completely ... the 35is has different front- and rear bumpers (compared to the M pack), and (re)tuned exhaust sound, and other software adjustments (along with a higher turbo pressure 0,8 bar iso 0,6 bar)

Thanks for the pics, I gotta say the mirrors don't look too bad with the Blue. They sort of tie into the wheels and grill..

i was providing teagueAMX info on the suspension. BTW, the software and exhaust is only vs the 30i and 23i.
