I know that there are OBD security issues - but I was pretty sure that there is still no update for our E89s?

Best regards
Mick

Hi. Is the update also for cars which are now out of warranty? My warranty has just expired. Is it also free of charge do you know, for cars out of warranty?

Thanks for any clarification.

Yes, my car is out of Manu warranty now... I took insured warranty out.

Update still went ahead for me.

USA affected too ???

Does anyone know if USA comfort access cars are affected by the same flaw? In one of the other forums I read, it inferred that it was an EU problem, because of a law requiring other than BMW dealers be able to do work on BMW's without proprietary equipment?
Furthermore, have any USA dealers acknowledged this problem. The last time I was at my US dealer shortly after this all broke, the dealer seemed oblivious to the problem.

Maniac. Thanks for the post. Don't suppose you know if cars without extended warranty are eligible?

My warranty expired 2 days ago now!

No mention was made of my insured warranty. Give your dealer a call...

If this update is indeed mandated by an EU law, it would be strange if a customer had to pay for BMW to be compliant with the law.
