Charge pipe fitment for our N54 cars? longer or shorter?
I'm lacking solid info on whether our N54 engined Z4 will take the Longer post 2009 Charge pipes, or the older version of the charge pipes from pre 09 335i.
I'm in the market to buy a CP DV/BOV set, but not 100% sure about this. Anyone care to enlighten me? Cheers, and thanks in advance!

Talk to these guys at ER. They're now advertising a product specifically naming it for our Z4. The only model I knew of that fit e89 previously was used by Vintage from Stett. Good luck.

e89 is shorter than e9x for sure.
They are different length. I tried to fit 335i pipe on Z4 and it won't get in there just by looking at it.

Well. im still very confused, as some of the 335i pipes will fit our E89 and some won't. so far i know 335i before mid 09 has a shorter CP. and after 09 to 10 has a longer CP.
http://www.extremeturbosystems.com/E...arge-Pipe.html Anyone has any idea if this ETS CP will fit E89 N54? Vintage, do you remember if your Stett CP was built for after or before 09 n54 motors?

The Stett CP and FMIC were built for a 2009 N54 built motor, but in a 2010 model. Our car was built September 2009 and delivered November 2010 to the dealer. I hope that is helpful.

I have ER pipe on my z4. it only goes from the TB up to the rubber cuppler. not sure what length is that but its pretty easy to reach to measure if you have an aftermarket intake installed already

I don't believe this is true. "Well......some of the 335i pipes will fit our E89 and some won't."
I believe the length on some 335 pipes are a better match in length for Z4, but they don't have the correct bend/configuraton to connect. All Z4 induction tracts (charge pipes) have one model number (per realoem). No 335 MY use that model number. All 335 charge pipes follow a convoluted path through a restrictive dual 90degree snorkel leaving the FMIC and then complete the path to the throttle body in plain sight high in the engine bay. The Z4 tract, as shown in earlier photo and realoem graphic, remains low in the engine bay and makes a gradual flow friendly climb up to the TB. Hope this is helpful.

it looks like I will have to purchase the Charge pipe that's specificity made for the Z4, probably the ER charge pipe. was planning on taking over used 335i CP for cost saving but clearly wishful thinking.
Thanks for clearing things up z4z4z4! much apreciated!
