Top won't raise cause trunk won't latch..

Trunk closes over the top stowed in the trunk but will not electrically fully shut. I have smartop installed. Any thoughts on how to get the trunk to latch so it can pivot from the back to open?

Could the fuse for the circuit the trunk assist is on be blown? Could the trunk latch be out of adjustment somehow? (this was an occasional problem on my SLK). Is there a microswitch or something that detects the trunk is latched?

Have you ever been able to operate the top since installing the SmartTop?

The only time I've had this problem was when I put my bag in the trunk and the key was in the bag. That was comfort access saving me from a lot of discomfort.

Atebit and julap, All fuses ok and nothing in the trunk. Smartop has been operational for 6 months. Taking to dealer in am. Thanks both of you.

Don't forget to disable the SmartTop first!
