Hello....I'm new!
Hello everyone! This is my first post here as I just picked-up my new car about two hours ago. I've been on 'bimmerforums' and bimmerfest' for many, many years. They do not have very active E89 sections, so I thought I'd see what life was like here on ZPost!
I'm a long time, diehard BMW enthusiast. Picking up my new Z4 today makes it my 17th BMW car owned, 20 if you count motorcycles. Yes, I am certifiable in my addiction! Anyway, on to the car! I bought a CPO 3.0, 6-Speed Manual. It is Sapphire Black over Coral Red. I have Premium Package, BMW Assist w/ Bluetooth, Cold Weather Package, Front & Rear PDC and a few other items. I've had four different Z3 Roadsters and am VERY happy to have my new E89!! I look forward to the many twisty roads ahead!! The below pictures where taken when we picked it up at the BMW Center today. |

Enjoy. That could be a 30i release spec model. I almost bought one.
Its a little softer than the M roadsters but still a great drive and should be similar to the standard Z3/Z4 models plus the folding hardtop is great.

I like that idea! Lets start a petition, shall we? When our salesman asked us if we were familiar with BMW we just looked at each other and chuckled. Today the car is getting a deep clean, a hand wax and a cruise down to Monterey to pick-up the OEM Car Cover I ordered. It's gonna be a good day!

Nice car! I also have an e36 - 97 m3/4/5 and while the e36 is a great car, the 15+ years of development and advancements in automobile manufacturing really shows. I only wish the e89 also had the same steering feel as the e36.
As for this board compared to bf.c, there isn't much traffic here (but definitely more than the e89 section at bf.c). |

Thanks for the warm welcomes everyone! I drove the car for the first time today (test drove it and drove home last night but that doesn't count). I headed down to Monterey for a little while, what a greta drive. So far I'm loving the E89. I'd be happy to do some Roadster comparisons (I've had Z4s, Z3s, Boxsters, Miatas and an SLK) for ya', after I spend a little more time behind the wheel getting to know my new toy.
It was kind of a Z4 day today. I got up, washed it (dealerships never do as good of a job as I would do), hand waxed it, polished the tires and wheels and did a leather conditioning treatment. After that, I did my first little customization. I removed all of the badging; the 'sDrive30i' from the fenders and I removed the 'Z4' from the trunk. It looks excellent, all clean and de-badged! |

HaHa! I've been a member on that site for about 3-4 years now (with a couple of my Z3s). My user name on there is 'Zed_Roadster'. I have never been able to make a single event sadly. They always seem to conflict with something else on my calendar.
However, you've inspired me! I just RSVP'd for next week's San Francisco Run. I see you will be there as well, awesome! I'll look forward to meeting you. Last edited by E36ic4Me; 05-12-2012 at 11:48 AM.. |
