Wheel weight
Being new to a Z4 I'm finding it very hard to source information about anything on the car. My question today is does anybody know the weight of the stock 17 x 8 wheel. My car is a 2010 3.0. Hard to look for lighter alternative wheels when you don' t know what the stock ones weigh.

My guess is that due to the overall $$ of the car, as well as many of us having extended warranties, that data will eventually trickle out here as those run out. There is a ton of data on the n54 on other forums - so all is not lost....

Check out this link for the different wheels with weights available for BMWs. TireRack will give you the weight of the tires.
http://www.bmwstylewheels.com/Z/Z4-E89 Typical wheel for 2010 3.0 runs about 12 kg (26.4 lbs). Then add on the RFTs, another 26 lbs for Potenza RE050 and you've got yourself a pretty heavy set up. |
