Does Anyone Know The Answer To This Question?
Why does the car im looking at not have the dual climate controls, but rather just the one climate control on the right, but yet the ones I see now at the dealers have the dual cimate controls showing the temps for each side?

well, it depends on what model you are looking at. I believe the 35i has the dual zone thing (which is ridiculous in a roadster...IMHO) standard and is optional on the 30i, at least as of the 09 model yr. Can't say for the 2010 model yr.

1 zone = "manual air condition" = standard in all models
2 zones = "automatic air condition" = option 534 = € 584,- Even the 35i is not supplied with the automatic air condition as a standard, at least here in Germany. BTW: As we have much rain at the moment, I am quite glad about the 2 zones - my wife still likes it hot Best regards Mick |

then this is strange as im looking at a canadian demonstrator 35i and it only has the one heat control for temperature on the right. What would be the explanation for that do you think, when all the other z4s sitting there that are 35i's have the dual termp controls. Could it be possible that the car was rebuilt in some way from something from overseas? Or what?

Deflector is a cost option on all models. We do get velor carpets as standard though. |

i read your question and my point was both the 30i and 35i come with auto climate control... so whatever the car you're looking at has is irrelevant, because you wont get that, you'll get auto climate control...

According to sales brochure for North America, left/right temperature controls are standard on 35i and included as an option within the premium package for the 30i. Almost seems as if the 35i you're looking at has been equiped with the standard 30i manual climate control.

Here's a page from 30i owner's manual showing standard heat/air conditioning controls, one only temperature control dial on right side.

thats what im concerned about. the car im looking at is a demonstrator 35i, but clearly has these controls in it. Isnt that strange? It makes me suspicious that the car was in some kind of accident and the dash has been replaced. |

Assume this vehicle has a very early serial number, maybe built before finalizing the standard and option offerings for each model. In order to need dash replacement as result of an accident there would have been significant damage to the car, this level of damage would suggest a total loss. Even if a dash replacement were made, can't imagine exchanging automatic dual temperature climate control for manual single temperature climate control, as I would believe this would cause unnecessary changing a number of additional supporting components. You should be able to get the dealer to verify and certify that vehicle is accident free.
