PDC question

The button is there but when I pressed it. It did not seem to do anything.
Yet the sensors are everywhere on the front and rear bumper.
I depressed it for longer than 10s (based on someone online's trick) but no luck.
Is it dead or malfunction?

Assuming it all works when you put it in reverse, then I'd get a code reader on it and see what, if any, codes cone up.
It "should" activate, and switch the screen (assuming you have iDrive) to the PDC view.

No I do not have the control display.
I plugged in the OBDII and everything was clear or no code detected. (I did this in reverse)
At this point I am not sure what else to pursue on?
The user manual is pretty much useless as far as troubleshooting tips.

OK, so first of all is the PDC sound coming out of the speakers or somewhere else?
Also when you pressed the button does it light up? If you are close to something does the PDC make a sound?
The PDC button is used to activate the system, normally for parking upto something in front of you. Activation for reverse is by the reverse gear being engaged, but it activates the front at the same time, and this is the same with the button, it activates all of them.

Check your volume when PDC is active. The volume may be turned off. There is a way to adjust this volume

Turned up the PDC volume in audio settings to +3 and I could hear the test tone loudly but still no luck.
While testing the PDC reverse sensors. I almost hit the fence when trying to back in the car.
What is really puzzling me is the scanner saw no codes.

Of course, no iDrive.

To check the PDC sensors, always get someone else to walk around the car!

So I'm getting confused here, are you getting any sound? If so is that both front and rear? And is the sound coming from the speakers or somewhere else? If somewhere else, then from where?

My other car has parking assistance so I realize how this thing works. :-)
No I am not getting sound when I did the reverse test by backing very near the fence in the back yard of my driveway.
The only sound I ever got from the PDC is the volume loudness in setting where I adjusted the loudness of it.

With no fault codes coming up then its not easy to diagnose. And nobody is going to just tell you it's "this" or "that"
I would suspect it "could" be the main module, but I'm also leaning towards something to do with switch block connection. Time to start taking a physical look around, checking the plug in the bottom of the switch block as well as the two plugs in the back of the air-con panel (switch block is directly connected to the air-con unit). Also the PDC module connections and check for water ingress in that area.
There is a potential that if the module has gone then a code reader won't report a fault because its not getting a response from it to start with, but that would explain it not working for detection and the switch not illuminating and not doing anything.

Until I can figure this one out.
Here is the alternative.
Just purchased the wireless reverse camera from Amazon.

Had the auto shop scanned today. Everything was clean and clear and even the mechanic was puzzled too.
Anyway the alternative works wonder with clear picture of the rear when backing out.
