I am at 302hp with my 30i.
I currently have Afe Drop in filter, Remus exhaust with secondary cats deleted. I had the car tuned by Frank Smith. |

I think so.
N52 being non turbo and not direction injection bypasses a lot of systems that have been brought up as possible issues for the N54, such as fuel injectors, high pressure fuel pump and wastegate rattle. From my experience, N52 doesn't suffer from heat soak caused power reduction and limp mode issues when driven hard for extended periods. Lastly, I have never heard of N52 cars lemoned for any reason but have heard of many N54 cars lemoned due to the drivetrain |

I think it would be decent $$$ spent just to make the thing do 30 minutes of hot lapping with consistent power output Also, an x factor I encounter is the DCT going to a very conservative state where the shifting speeds in sport+ / manual were extremely slow and in sport+/ S mode automatic upshifts would occur at 4k rpm. I did not have logging so I am not sure about the root cause. If it is DCT temperature I am not even sure there is an aftermarket part to fix the issue. I think it is worth assessing how much you want an E89 if you are going to track it. in my opinion, E89 N52 has a weight to power issue, E89 N54 has a heat management issue. |

Well, frankly speaking your posting impressed me so much I asked them for conditions to tune my Z the same way.... And, consequently, N52 - once tuned - will it still meet EU exhaust emmision test? |

I just got an update from them, that the kit for the 3 series is complete, they are still doing some R&D for for the 30i Z4...
But I should be well over 400hp after the kit is install on low boost (7PSI) Finally some love for the 30i |

Coming winter probably gets somehow busy in my garage....
Somewhere out there, there are stiffer Sport Springs and swaybars by H&R bound to arrive soon and, today I made my mind out (read: learnt to live with the budget they propose), so I will go for a rather dramatic diff shortening .... 4.27 ->5.00 (hillclimb final gear by ///Motorsport).... This would both limit the Vmax significantly (I do NOT care! ) and give me some extra 17% power on wheels.... EDIT: I forgot... just quite recently swapped a standard to ///Performace intake on my other car (330ix e91).... well, it breathes a lot better now... anyone knows bout anything similar to fit 30i Z4 e89 (EU specs N52B30K - 190kW) ? |
