Lowering M-sport
I have the 2011 M-sport package, but I cannot find any specifications on how much lower my car is, compared to the standard Z4. The thing is, I am interested in lowering my car a bit more. I have looked at these springs, which lower the car by 30mms:
http://www.bilmodecenter.se/hr-sankn...25-c-1489.aspx Do you think this will look ok, or will I not see much difference between standard M-sport and this? Just looking for some opinions before I buy. I have the M-sport 19" rims. Thanks This is how the car looks today (expect there is two-four weeks left until summer tire season starts and tires are on ): http://www.garaget.org/?car=290552 Last edited by drem; 03-13-2013 at 01:50 PM.. |

I've got M-sport package too and I've just ordered the H&R springs. I think it's supposed to drop the car a further 20mm. I'll take some pics as soon as I get the car back from the shop.
It's getting an eisenmann sport exhaust too

Just make sure you get alignment done when you've dropped the cars or all the camber/toes etc will be out of whack making it handle badly and increasing tyre wear!

If you have the adaptive ride, this is already 10 mm lower than the standard suspension.
You have to deduct these 10mm from the lowering value of the other springs. |

I do have the adaptive suspension. Dont know if I'm getting this right. The guy who sells the springs told me today that the H&R-28.987 lowers the car 30mm, and that the M-sport package is normally 15mm, so my car would be about 15mm lower. But you're saying this value, if added the adaptive ride, would be only 5mm lower than what I have today?? Is this correct?

Thanks for the pictures Hoa! It's a bit difficult to see the rear gap from the pictures, do you have any more pictures from the side (profile), a bit more near the car, with both front and rear tire visible?
Do you have the M-sport +adaptive suspension? Anyone know the specs of the AC Schnitzer springs? They are not that much more $: AC-313.089.710

I can't believe that those are springs by H&R. I have the M-adaptive sportsuspension in combination with H&R on mine and the lowering is completely flat, this means that the rear gap is slighty smaller the the one on the front wheel.
Looking at the pics I think they must be by Eibach which are known to lower front more than the rear (like in your pics). |

I think about to lower my car too, what you feel about H&R spring while driving? also will the suspension still be able to function more stiff if it is in sport mode or + ??

Sorry for the delay. What I meant is that M-sport is 10mm lower than standard. The H&R springs will lower a further 20mm, so that's 30mm total from non-M stock.

I have noticed that most users seem to pick the H&R springs for the Z4, are they better then the Eibach's ? I had a set of those on my last car and found the ride quality was great...just wondered why most people choose H&R over eibach...

i had eibachs on my 3 series and then fk coilovers on my m3. i prefer the eibachs to h&r as the eibach gives the car a rake vs the even front and rear drop of h&r. handling (based on spring type) is obviously improved with either.
