cheapest M front bumper conversion?
How much did you guys pay for the front bumper conversion and where did you order it from? So far the cheapest I have seen is $947.04 shipped from http://parts.bmwofsouthatlanta.com/cart.aspx Is that everything I need to make the conversion? Thanks in advance

$600 here, not sure what shipping will be.
http://www.getbmwparts.com/parts/201...iagram=1925021 Edit: Cheaper here, $550 http://www.bmwmercedesparts.com/part...iagram=1925021 Again, does not include shipping. These are just primed though, will require painting. Also, do note that this is for bumper only...you will need the lower grills, airducts, and possibly new screws. Save some hassle and buy it here for $900, http://www.getbmwparts.com/partlocat...catalogid=4462 but I'm sure it will be cheaper if bought separately not as a "kit" |

Thanks...I think http://www.getbmwparts.com/partlocat...catalogid=4462 will be the cheapest route. It comes out to $939.95 shipped and it says it includes everything to make the conversion. Thats a lot easier

I have looked around a bit and don't see any information as to whether the M Sport bumper can be installed on an '09...anyone have experience with this or have a link that discusses this?

I have done this conversion a couple of years ago. I just bought the bumper and lower grills. No issues since then...I really don't think you need those ducts! Hope this helps...

Hmmm...interesting that there isn't a definite answer re: the air ducts. Another thread mentions that they are particularly important on the 35i and up models due to the engine. I'd want to skip getting them altogether since they add an extra $100 to the price tag, but I would be concerned about reliability issues down the road.
ANYWAYS, I'm glad to hear someone has confirmed this is possible because I need to go to my auto body to figure out getting my car repaired after a fender bender, and I was hesitant to have them order the M bumper for me without being sure. I'll be sourcing the other parts from getbmwparts.com Thanks for the help everyone! |
