Front License Plate
Help! I live in CA where a front license plate is required. I got a ticket the other day for not displaying a front plate and it requires me to fix the "problem" but I do NOT want to drill holes in the front bumper + the car looks horrible with a plate on the front. Have anyone successfully used the Swift Hideaway on an E89?

Front License Plate
You might want to do a search on the M3 forum, this has been discussed and options reviewed several times. There are options out there that do not require any drilling holes in your front bumper, and good luck. You could also move to a state that does not require front plates, but that might be extreme (LOLOL)!!

I live in CA as well. I ordered a bracket from gominigo.com that screws into the tow hook threads(just remove a pop out plastic plug on the right side of the bumper) It doesn't look bad at all and you can remove it in a few minutes for esthetics.

On a slightly different tangent, I am going the ED route for my Z4. I will have european plates(front and back) during my european trip. I don't know if holes are drilled for the front plate. Also, you are allowed to keep one of the european plates(if requested, plate will be left in the trunk on shipping from what I understand). I don't know if it will look cool to keep the european plate on the front or if it will take away from the nice lines of the car.

Arizona Z4 No holes are drilled by BMW in the front bumper for EU plates. BMW uses double sticky tape on the front tag. The rear tag is attached using bolts which are the same bolt pattern & location which are used to mount the contoured rear mounting plate which you will receive at the Welt. You now have to leave both plates on the vehicle for EU transport. The folks at the EU drop off point (we did ours at the Log INOUT in Munchen) will leave a note in the car stating you do not want your EU plates removed at the VDC - if that is your desire. My plates were still mounted on the vehicle upon redelivery so it worked for me. I'm leaving my EU plate on until my CA plates arrive, as I have a temp paper registration tag in the windshield - or until the law enforcement personally tells me otherwise. Home in SO CA

You could also try gominigo.com - bought this for my car. In fact, my Z is the one on their site depicting the bracket.
