Shift light

I am trying to figure out how to connect a shift light on a 3.0 E89 Z4. Has anyone done this and if so how? There is a a way to program this feature on an M3 but not on a Z4. TIA.

After doing some homework I found out BMW coils are 3 wire:

1) switched +12V
2) Trigger signal
3) Ground

What I need to know is which coil connector wire, color?? is the signal wire So I can tap No 1 cylinder trigger signal for shift light. My car is a 2010 3.0 N52B30A so any other BMW with same engine should have same coil connector configuration.

Ground should be easy enough for you to figure out
Switched +12 I imagine comes on with the ignition?

Did some more homework. Ground wire is brown, +12V is orange and signal/ trigger wire on cylinder one is white.

Another question, where is good place to tap switched 12V under dash for shift light?

Tapped gry/red wire at cigarette lighter in passenger footwell for switched 12v and brown wire for ground. lighter is hard to find. its in upper left hand part of footwell next to center console. you have to crawl in footwell to see it.
