KC Hilites Mount

Hey guys, I've gotten so much great info from this board since picking up my E89, I thought I'd give back a little (now that I have something to contribute).

Great solutions offered so far! I dig jingnai2's solution for it's sturdiness, but I didn't want to drill into the brace. ttuner's is really economical, but I wanted something a bit firmer.

I settled on a KC Hilites light clamp (7301), a flat washer, a lock washer, and a couple of rubber flat washers to go between the flat washer and clamp and the clamp and the catch can. It's a rock solid mount. Oh, and the screw that came with the catch can is too short for this mount. Getting a #10-32 socket cap crew that's 3/4" long does the trick.

Just another solution for others that land on this thread looking for a way to mount the BMS OCC onto our E89's.

Enjoy!

Very cool. Thanks for sharing!

Is this the clamp you used? http://autoplicity.com/3458282-kc-hi...FQqEfgodjzICUA

Also, may I ask what size rubber washers you used and where you sourced them? Thanks!

Yep! That's the bracket.

I picked up the washers at Home Depot. 1/4" hole at 1-1/2" dia x 1/16" thick.

BTW, it works fine without the lock washer since the hole in the flat washer I used was *just* smaller than the screw head, but I had the lock washer handy and it bridged the spacing between the head and flat washer more securely.

Oh, and the flat washer is technically a fender washer with a 3/16" hole at 1-1/14" dia.
