say goodbye, part 2

Well, said good bye to my Z4 today as well. Returned the leased car to the dealer.

Funny ... I may see maybe one other Z4 every month or two around here. This morning I saw a white one -- once at the office, I texted my wife and told her it was a sign!!!

Drove from the office to the dealer -- saw another Z4, this time grey! Okay, someone is really really really sending me a message ...

Anyway, return was very quick and painless. Pay for the two rear tires, that's it. The return is at the used car dealer lot, which is a bit of a sad affair after all the glitz in the new car lot where I picked it up 3 years and 2 months ago.

All in all, very emotional day. First time I am "returning" a car and not getting a new car I am excited about. I am going to wait a year or so and see if they come out with the new Z4 (Z5?) next year. Or get something totally different. Not in a hurry.

Oh, by any chance, does anybody know what to do with the license plates? I am in IL. The DMV / Secretary of State website doesn't seem to have any info about canceling the plates. Dealer indicated to check with DMV and that the plates were mine.
