Question about the keys

I'm in the process of buying a 2009 Z4 and will be picking up soon. But now the seller said he couldn't find the spare key which needs to be made before the handover. Does the E89 has a total number of three keys? Two fob and one bare key used for opening the doors? The seller said he never see the bare key since he bought it new, can someone advise on that?

Pretty sure it won't have a bare key since it would be useless to start the car. When I got mine used it had the 2 fobs with their built-in physical keys for the doors.

I found out yesterday that key fob batteries have an average life of 7 years. I'm referring to the ones that go in slot in dash, not the ones you keep in your pocket. It seems the slot fob lithium batteries are recharged when inserted in the slot. I was told to swap out using the two fobs. I had been using one on a daily basis and the 2nd one was my back up in desk drawer. If left in drawer battery was not being charged and would go dead over time. Fobs you keep in pocket have replaceable batteries. BTW new fobs cost $300 at dealer.
